What is a prop firm?
A prop firm (proprietary trading firm) is a company that gives you access to trading capital after you've proven your skills on a challenge. In exchange, you share your profits — typically 80 to 90% goes to you. The most well-known in 2026 are FTMO, Apex, Topstep and FundedNext.
Each firm has its own rules: maximum drawdown, minimum trading days, forbidden news periods, payout conditions. One math mistake, a forgotten scaling step, an unexpected US news release — and the account is blown. TrackFirm centralizes all these rules, calculates your per-trade risk and pings you before any violation.
